RIP Karen Welbourn

It is with a very heavy heart that I pass on the very sad news Brian and I received Sunday evening.

Karen Welbourn, Bob's wife,  (The Ragweed Jazz Band) passed away after many months of her second bought of Cancer.  Karen fought bravely and her last words to me when I had a chance to talk with her was I am going to beat this.

Well unfortunately it beat her.  She was a loving caring person and always had a wonderful smile for everyone.  She passed on her sincere concern for anyone that was having problems.  When my sister passed away with Cancer she gave me a necklace of the Circle Of Life. She told me to wear this in memory of my sister.  Well today I wear it in memory of Karen.

She was a very special lady and will be missed deeply.

Our hearts go out to Bob and his lovely family in this very sad time.  We love you.

Karen's creative side was expressed in her visual art which was displayed at Durham West Arts Centre and the Silverstone Gallery, Pickering not far from her home in Ajax . She was a member of Toronto Watercolour Society, PineRidge Arts Council, Ajax Creative Arts and the Oshawa Art Association.  Her wok is scheduled for exhibit  at
