Today we lost a great friend, piano player and band leader,  JOE CAVALLARO.  Joe came from Elmira NY and entertained many of us who attended Alexandria Bay Jazz Festival and who also help run the Twin Tiers Jazz Festival in Elmira NY.  He had a wonderful personality, a lot of thoughtfulness and kindness that we will never forget.  RIP JOE  LOVE  DINNY & DO

He treated us Canadians as if we were gold when we came to Elmira.  His hospitality was beyond anything you could imagine.  His band members were also wonderful to all of us.

For some unknown reason, he took a special shine to my Dinny.  Why I don’t know!!!!!!!  They joked around all the time and Joe would call Dinny and say ( I just had to call you, you’re driving me crazy if I don’t.)  He called just  a few weeks ago to say that the band had their passports and would be able to come to Kitchener to play for us.  Wayne and Nancy and all of us were so excited that this would happen in the new year.  Unfortunately, the Lord had other plans for Joe, which we are not too happy about.

His spirit and smile will live on in our hearts and remember the good times.  Our sympathy goes out to his dear friend Karen and his devoted band members.

Sincerely
Dinny & Do

We are excited to announce a new location for Dinny And The Allstars to play at.  This will be every second Sunday starting November 22nd from 6 pm to 9 pm.

The management is very happy to have us join their lineup of entertainment.  Their Fridays and Saturdays are booked but he is quite willing to have us play Sundays.  We can play every Sunday if we choose but have opted for every second Sunday.  The time was chosen because of their regular clients that come in every Sunday until 5.30pm for football and drinks. The Queen Victoria has a great website so be sure to visit it and see their menu, the layout and their nice décor.  It is quite a comfortable feeling.

This pub restaurant is large very much the same layout as 744 but larger and very English pub décor.  The staff and proprietor are all very friendly.  The food is excellent and it is an open menu.  Their beers are more reasonable that most places too. No set planned dinners that restrict you.

STARTING DATE----SUNDAY  -NOV.  22ND

We encourage the fans and musicians to bring friends and to pass the word around to get this location going with live music and great musicians.

Dinny and I are very excited about this chance to play the music we love so much and to entertain our friends and fans and to entertain the regular patrons the come to The Queen Victoria.    We look forward to your support and to see you there on Sunday Nov. 22nd from 6 pm to 9 pm

Hi fans and friends.

I would just like to bring you up to date on the events that have come our way.  Dinny And The Allstars have had a very busy and successful season and continue to do so.  We have played festivals such as Alexandra Bay—Niagara Jazz Festival for the first time and was very successful—Elmira NY Twin Tiers Jazz Festival for the 5th time---South Side Shuffle for the 13th year.  We have done many dances for the legion in Brechin On.—which, by the way, puts on great food and a good attendance.  We are back again on Nov. 7th for the 6th time with Barb Jordan.

We have also done many gigs for retirement homes and BQ’s—also Simcoe Jazz Society—many gigs at 744 with Barb Jordan and it goes on and on.

We are very fortunate that all of these gigs come our way and have kept us very busy every weekend.  Brian has also played with other bands.

So we would like to THANK EVERYONE who comes out to support our gigs and listen to the great bands that Dinny has put together.  The musicians have been exceptional and have performed super for us.  Our city of Toronto has the best musicians and many times they are not recognized enough.

Our gigs along with many other bands had to be cancelled at Waterloo Legion due to the delay in the renovation of the new building that the legion has moved to.  This has been a great loss to many bands and musicians that play with more than one band.  Not to mention the stress that Wayne and Nancy have gone through trying to get this resolved.  If all goes well there should be music there in late Nov. or early Dec.  Our first gig will be Sat. Dec. 19th from 2 to 5 pm if all goes well.

Thanks again for your support

Regards and Keep On Jazzin
